Amanda T. Staten is a trailblazer in the cannabis industry, a proud Las Vegas native, and the visionary founder of The Rolling Cloudz, LLC — a first-of-its-kind concept she launched in 2021 to create elevated experiences and intentional community spaces where culture, creativity, and wellness converge.
With a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the illustrious Hampton University, Amanda has long combined strategic thinking with a passion for culture, wellness, and innovation. Her introduction to the world of plant-based wellness sparked a personal journey of education, exploration, and purpose — eventually evolving into a professional mission.
Inspired by the shift in legislation and growing public interest in alternative wellness spaces, Amanda set her sights on creating something meaningful: a destination where culture, creativity, and community could thrive under one roof.
In April 2021, she made it official — launching The Rolling Cloudz LLC with nothing but a vision, a hope, and an unwavering belief in what was possible. With the spirits of her ancestors guiding her, Amanda stepped into entrepreneurship determined to break barriers, set new standards, and build a brand that uplifts others while redefining the future of social wellness spaces.
Her leadership and influence extend beyond her own business. Since 2023, Amanda has been a featured speaker at the Higher: Women of Color Cannabis Conference in Philadelphia, PA, where she has spoken on the licensing challenges in the cannabis industry , particularly the barriers faced by Black entrepreneurs, while sharing insights on entrepreneurship, equity, and cultural representation.
She has also taken the stage at the National Cannabis Festival in Washington, D.C., the largest celebration of cannabis culture on the East Coast, drawing tens of thousands of attendees, hundreds of vendors, and some of the most influential voices in cannabis policy, business, and advocacy.
These platforms have allowed Amanda to amplify her message, connect with diverse audiences, and advocate for a more inclusive and visionary future in cannabis.
The disparities are heartbreaking, especially when Black people are largely criminalized for cannabis-related misdemeanors and felonies. The use of cannabis products are slowly becoming legalized, yet Black men and women who were sentenced on drug charges pre-regulation are still behind bars.
